xhtml/css help
i need some help with a website im coding,
its my first "real" coding, and ive gotten pretty far and am understanding it pretty well...
i just cant seem to figure out why in the world the nav will not streach down to the footer when the content expands... help!

You could set your image as a background to your <body> and then position it, and repeat it down the x(?) axis.
or maybe a min-height for your side bar div. i dont think a div will stretch to 100% or inherit the height of its parent. or it might in IE, but not FF.

min-height doesnt work... and i cant add a background to body because i already have one, but i tried it to my container and i couldnt get it to work...
anymore suggestion? its seems like a really basic thing and you guys should know!!

Use a bg image on the wrapper.

thanks Blue_Ire and joe, i had tried that before and it didnt work... and still doesnt. I dont get whats wrong with it... I even tried setting the background to so absurd color and still i see no change...

If you give #container a BG image matching the sidebar you'll be fine. I just tested it out, worked a charm. Granted I used the TF logo, but still .

i did this and it still isnt working... and i dont understand why!
