  Old  wordpress

I am contemplating designing my portfolio so it can be easily coded to Wordpress but I have never coded Wordpress before.

Is Wordpress hard to code? Are there any articles I can read so I know which files to edit to customize Wordpress?

Cheers
~ Purge

The template files are in itīs own file. You shold find a foler calld template or style, copy the standard style and edit the files in it. You can check here for more info http://codex.wordpress.org/Main_Page

And wordpress are preaty easy to code.

It is easy once you get the hang of it.

Look at free templates and see how they are put together.

Or find someone - look hard enough you'll find someone for $15-$20 (html->wp)

If you have a decent handle on PHP then you should be good. Once you've been working with WordPress for a bit it's pretty easy and creating custom themes is a breeze as long as you know what you're doing (XHTML/CSS).

Wordpress is really easy to grasp without any knowledge of PHP, although it's really useful to have a general understanding of PHP syntax.

http://w3schools.com/php/default.asp

Check out that site for some general, quick PHP reading. Then just use the Wordpress.org Wiki to figure out how to edit/create templates.

My suggestion.

Either follow wpdesigner.com's guide.
Or.

Simply create a page in xhtml/Css, then read through the template tags on codex.wordpress.org to learn what you can place on that page.
