Good programs to record game play?
Hey, im looking to make a frag movie. And I was wondering what program I might use to be able to record gameplay of the following games:
Counter Strike 1.6
Counter Strike : Source
Quake 4
And, any reccomendations on software I might use to peice all the clips together and add cool effects?

Indeed, Fraps is the market leader for capturing the footage, however my brother is a dab hand at Sony Video Vegas 5. Excellent software and works perfectly with:
After Effects
Adobe Premier
Flash
3D studio max
Cinema 4D

Fraps unregistered only allows 30 seconds recording, and with a fraps advert at the top.

I'd love to spend $37 on recording game play.

I've got fraps, and it's easily the best.
$37 is nothing.
You'd spend like 500 / 600 quid on some graphics software though wouldnt you?

No, heh.
I decided that 30 seconds is alright, I just have to merge all the vids together. Quality is excellent!
