Sometimes it's transparent, sometimes it's white
I'm currently working on a website about my favourite group ever, The Roots.
I wanted to put an image in the top right corner of the page, but didn't want it to just be a straight cut image that comes out of nowhere. So I used the smudge tool to make it a little nicer. You can see what I mean here:

Depending on what computer you're using, it may look good, or it may look white a bit on the left where it should be semi transparent. I thought it was fine last night but I just logged onto an older computer and realized that it looks like crap.
What do I do?

You're probably using a PNG image. PNG image contain transparancy with anti-aliasing, but is not supported by all browser. IE6 will not render the transparancy for example.

I'm using internet explorer right now but on my computer at home it looks fine in both ie and firefox.
Is there another image format that would be very compatible but still allow transparancy?
