Template Portal
Ok I have paid somone to code me the site and then I will pay somone to design it. I have already paid half. I am just giving the coder the details what I want it to do. He says I can have as many features as I want and he won't increase the price.
Here is what I have so far, I want to compete with template monstor so please suggest some features I have missed out.
Thanks!

its a good idea aslong as it moderated properly. . . not to sound nasty but you dont want any old junk up on your site and you would ofcourse need to check that the seller is't ripping designs or selling things he doesn't own, anything like that would damage your site's rep and ofcourse put people off big time

Spending alot on this and I certainly wouldn't want that happening, know any ways I could make sure they aren't stolen designs?

I don't remember which template website it was but one of them actually has there own priated section which he pays them to surf the internet in look for his templates being pirated. But the thing is you got to be able to make sure they don't do it again. Basicly take them to court. Sue them and then let them be. Also make sure you properaly copyright the material (not just adding a © thingy)
Also you got to be prepared for any legal actions incase somebody desides to sue you over anything. Really it is a tricky business. But now and days people will sue for almost anything to get a few $$'s
Regards,

well i guess the only way would be to check up on them, would be a bit of work if you had alot of people applying, but really you would need to check out their portfolio site (if they don't have one then i wouldn't reccomend letting them sell tbh) and maybe cheking up on a sale or two they have made on any forums etc if you can

well then you should be sorted then m8, good luck with it
oh im not sure if you have it mentioned above, can't remember now, but on the buying page you should maybe add a little 'report' link so if someone is selling a site that has already been sold with full rights for example that perosn would be able to report it to you for you to check out. . . just something to consider maybe

You could allways use a community moderation model to spot rippers. But some people are *******s and would probably abuse the system.
