Advice and coder needed for design

Hi..

I've designed a website for a friends band and I need it coded. Now I was thinking just coding it as a normal site as in CSS, but they're not the type of people who would have a clue what to do with it and would badger me every five minutes to update the news and gigs page..

So I was thinking, maybe to code it as a wordpress site instead or some other similar system, so they could easily add and remove gigs and update the news page?
