Old  Payment from Australia to United States

How would you suggest that a client in Australia pay a developer in the United States? With the currency conversions and such.

I know that they can use PayPal, but I would hate to lose a small part of my fee to PayPal's cut of it.

No matter how you pay, someone is going to take some of it, unless it's a check.

Yes, I was thinking something along the lines of money order or check. But can I take a check written in Australian dollar and have that cashed into US currency at my local bank in the US?

I'd recommend looking at a wire transfer (Julian's "direct bank payment") direct from the client's bank account to yours. PayPal charges for every transaction, cheques may be "lost" (I hate it when that happens), etc.
