Im not saying I dont like fireworks. But PhotoShop is better in every way, there is nothing I do in photoshop that can be done easier in fireworks.
Plus web coders want a psd, not a png.

Do a lot of vector work in Photoshop do you?
You've not used fireworks much, or you'd know that comparing the two is useless; they are completely different animals. It is specifically designed for the site design process, where as photoshop is a broad range graphics tool.

I love Fireworks because of it's simplicity. When I installed the Photoshop v.9 CS2 it tooke me like 10 minutes to figure out how to change the color of a rectangle.

Can you really save images to a .psd with Fireworks? Whenever I try to it doesn't save anything at all. I'm starting to think I may have gotten gypped. Also if it is possible does it save as a layered PSD?

I read the article and it had some good points but was heavily biased in favour of Fireworks.
For me it's got to be Photoshop. It is a much more powerful tool (in the right hands) than Fireworks could ever be.

I can use a .png...
Anyway, PS is much better as he said. Fireworks isn't bad but it's worse than Photoshop.

Different software for different applications, Fireworks looks to be very effective for web designing. Good article, yet very biased

I hate Fireworks. It's just not good enough for me. It's unlogical, and feels incomplete. Dreamweaver on the other hand is my all-time favorite webcode editor!
