This has been going on for about a little over a month now, when ever i turn on my pc it always asks what do i want to start-up to
Windows Xp
Windows Xp ( bootscreen )
I don't know how this came about but it waits 30second to automatically choose one when im not at the computer so it's taking 30seconds just on that screen. Is there anyway to just get rid of this ?
This can possibly be because at one point you tried to install 3rd party bootskins to change the look of your bootscreens. A program such as Stardock's Bootskin can easily do this for you. Although when you quit using it I noticed that it had done the same to me as well.. I was due for a reformat so when I did that I fixed it.. I believe that if you just re-install WindowsXp it will fix the problem.
Hope that helps.
you don't have to reinstall xp.
just right-click on 'my computer', then click on 'advanced', then click on 'startup and recovery', then uncheck 'display list of operating systems for...'
at least that would be the process on win2000 (which I'm running now). I have done it on XP but I can't rememebr if the process is different.
jono1 is pretty close to the answer, there is an option to uncheck "display list of operating systems: 30sec" etc, you can also make the time 0sec. You also need to ensure that your default operating system is selected at the top drop down list. Mine is "Windows XP Professional"/fastdetect
ah, but setting the seconds thing to 0 is completely reduntant if you just untick the checkbox.
but yes, making sure you set the right OS as default would probably help
